Power supply connects to Inverter
Transformer and secondary is rectified to D.C. This control system compensates
on each pulse after the first pulse is detected, which means
that compensation is 16.6 times more than that of conventional A.C. (60
HZ). Most generally, welding controls are set by using the peak values
set by the AWS. RMS current is a more accurate method of setting up welding
current. By using RMS values, the actual current flowing through
a weld can be determined, which is much more reliable than measuring only
the point at which current is at it’s peak.

Quality Assurance with Secondary Constant Current Voltage
Variations in resistance during welding are detected
and fed back to the control unit. The advantage of this type of control
is that reliable welds can be achieved regardless of fluctuations in power
source voltage or weld defects that occur due to plating, oxides, oil
or other contaminants, but with the high frequency inverter, weld current
remains the same due to the ability to detect and correct current fluctuations
at very high speeds. If unable to reach weld current, machine will “shut
down”.
